Where Do We Go From Here?

Former Baylor football starlet Shawn Oakman found not guilty of sexual assault. This is what headlines have been reading this weekend. Former Baylor University defensive end Shawn Oakman was finally acquitted after being indicted 3 years ago on second-degree sexual assault charges. At the time of the indictment, Oakman was an expected NFL first-round draft pick. Unfortunately,  his NFL dreams were cut short.

So now, Where does Shawn Okaman go from here? Oakman is still trying is hardest to pursue an NFL career. Which, is rightfully so I think its messed up that his life was ruined over false accusations. This is all too common in today's generation of top prospect athletes being accused of things that never happened. Just to have all their dreams ripped from within their hands so close to the end goal. A lifetime of hard work and preparation for it to all disappear at the snap of a finger. This is a hot topic and I think there should be consequences for the other party involved for crushing a man's dreams.

I feel strongly for Shawn Oakman in his crazy situation. But, the determination can be a saving virtue for anyone that's willing to work hard. Surrounded by people that want him to proser Shawn Oakman has the tools to succeed in this life. My hats are off to him for staying strong with the goal always in mind. The NFL has a special place for him any team should take a chance on this young man.
